May 26, 2026 update. Changelog, steady shipping, and what is next
Hello all. It has been a little while since our last update. We have been pounding away at Copia, but a lot of that work was not obvious from the outside until we added the change log on our website.
It is obviously not easy to write long blog posts every week. The change log gives you a clearer picture of what we are pushing out regularly, without us having to turn every merge into a full essay.
How the change log gets written
We use agents to help document each release. Every time we cut a release, an automated workflow creates a new change log entry and appends it to that page.
The change log only lists user-facing changes. Maintenance, tests, performance work, cleanup, and security updates usually do not get a bullet. We still do plenty of that work. The page is not meant to be a full dump of every commit.
See today's entry and scroll back for recent releases across the app and the marketing site.
Copia Assistant can show charts and UI in the conversation
Copia Assistant can now render charts and other UI components directly inside the chat. Ask about spending, income, or a trend, and you can get a chart or layout in the thread instead of only text.
That includes several chart types (area, bar, line, pie, radar, radial bar, scatter, and composed charts) so the assistant can pick something that fits the question. Full-screen chat gives you more room when you want to explore a visualization. We also tightened mobile so the assistant streams reliably on phones.
I plan to write a dedicated post that walks through this in more detail. For now, open Assistant in the app and try a question you would normally answer by hunting through a dashboard.
What we are working on next
A few big items on deck:
- Copia on iOS and Android: real native apps headed for the App Store and Google Play, not just the mobile web experience.
- Embedded spreadsheets in Copia: spreadsheet-style workflows inside the product so you can work with your numbers where you already budget.
- More marketing: we are a two-person team, and we are putting more effort into getting Copia in front of people who want an affordable budgeting app.
Thanks for following along. If you are using Copia and have feedback, or you are waiting on mobile or spreadsheets, we are listening. You can find us on Discord.
