Our Story
We built Copia because we couldn't find a budgeting app that was both powerful and affordable.
We're a team of two who actually use Copia every day. Every feature starts with solving a real problem we face in our own financial lives.
The Team Behind Copia
We're a small team of two experienced software engineers. We don't have a product team, we are the product team, and we're users of Copia. Every decision we make comes from actually using the app ourselves.

How Copia Started
Copia began as a personal project. Angel wanted a better way to visualize spending, and instead of paying for a budgeting app, he decided to build something simple using his software engineering background.
That first version was barebones, just a single page with a table and a graph showing income and expenses. Behind the scenes, a few tools pulled transaction data into Google Sheets. It worked for us, but we knew it could be better.
When Mint shut down, we couldn't find another budgeting app that felt as intuitive or reliable. We also noticed that most budgeting apps cost $14.99 or more per month. That's when we decided to turn Copia into something bigger, a budgeting app that's both powerful and affordable.
Today, Copia is built by a team of two experienced software engineers with over 20 years of combined experience across startups and large-scale systems. We're preparing for our public beta launch, but we're still the same: we use Copia every day to manage our own finances. Every feature we build starts with solving a real problem we face.
Our mission is simple: help people build better financial habits without breaking the bank. Starting at $4.99/month, you get the same features as apps costing three times more.
What We Believe
Affordability
Budgeting tools shouldn't cost a fortune. We built Copia to be affordable because we believe everyone deserves access to good financial tools, regardless of their income.
Built by Users
We don't have a separate product team. We are the product team, and we're users of Copia. Every feature exists because we needed it ourselves.
Simple but Powerful
Copia is designed to be approachable for beginners but powerful enough for financial enthusiasts. You shouldn't need a finance degree to use a budgeting app.
