Seamless Reconnection
Reconnect accounts without breaking your history.
•1 min readThe Problem
When a bank connection expires or needs to be reconnected, many budgeting apps can introduce data issues, like importing the same activity twice and creating duplicate transactions.
That duplication often forces you to manually merge or delete transactions to restore accurate totals.
What it is
Seamless Reconnection keeps your transaction history clean and continuous when you reconnect a bank account. If your bank sends the same transactions again during a re-sync, Copia recognizes them and avoids creating duplicates.
Copia matches your account and transactions during sync, so you don’t have to manually merge or delete duplicates.
Why it matters
Reconnections happen for normal reasons, like bank security updates, password changes, multi-factor prompts, or a connection timing out. In many apps, reconnecting can accidentally re-import old activity and double-count your spending.
Seamless Reconnection helps make reconnection a routine fix, not a cleanup project.
This will also work when we give you the ability to manually enter or import transactions, Copia will be able to detect when an imported transaction matches an existing record during sync.
